Jiří Filipovič

High-performance computing

RNDr. Jiří Filipovič, Ph.D.

Jiri Filipovic is the head of the High-Performance Computing research group at the Institute of Computer Science, Masaryk University. He holds his Ph.D. in Informatics from Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University. He was at postdoc positions at the University of Vienna and Masaryk University. He holds Dean’s award for outstanding Ph.D. thesis and Joseph Fourier Award in Computer Science.

His research focuses on scientific and high-performance computing. He develops methods for automatic improvement of code performance for conventional CPUs and accelerators (GPUs, Intel MIC). He also develops simulation methods and tools used in computational chemistry and biology, such as CaverDock. He is the author of 29 research papers, one book chapter, and four software tools from the area of scientific and high-performance computing.
