Engineering aggregation-resistant proteins

Martin Havlásek

Recent graduate in Biochemistry (Bc.) and soon-to-be graduate in Bioinformatics (Mgr.) from the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University, with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in biochemistry, molecular biology, computational biology, and protein engineering.
Martin began his research experience as an experimentalist, working with a wide range of laboratory techniques, including molecular biology methods such as cloning and mutagenesis, biotechnological approaches for protein expression and purification, and biophysical characterization with a focus on in-depth analysis of protein stability and aggregation.
More recently, he transitioned into computational biology and bioinformatics, where his focus has shifted to data analysis and the development of bioinformatics tools, specifically a machine learning-based tool for evaluating the mutational effects on protein fitness.
This interdisciplinary background has provided him with a strong foundation in both experimental and computational approaches in protein science. His research contributions have resulted in several manuscripts published in high-impact scientific journals.
