GENERAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have registered for the course, but I did not get any notification.<\/em><\/strong> Most likely, the \u201cRegistration confirmation\u201d email sent after every registration fell into your spam folder or was blocked by your spam filter. Check your spam for any emails from the domain \u201cmail.muni.cz\u201d or contact us ASAP at LL.academy.general@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I registered and paid the fee a long time ago, but I have not heard from you ever since.<\/em><\/strong> We usually send important information 3-4 weeks before the course. If it\u2019s past that period, possibly our emails fell into your spam folder or were blocked by your spam filter. Check your spam for any emails from LL.academy.general@gmail.com<\/a>. If you did not find them, contact us ASAP at LL.academy.general@gmail.com<\/a>. If possible, mark this email address as not spam <\/strong>on your email provider.<\/p>\n

I have registered and paid the fee, but I cannot attend the course. Can my colleague attend it instead?<\/em><\/strong> Yes. But in that case, tell us at least 1 week before the course, so that we can change the information on our system, and your colleague will have their own credentials and certificate. However, please check with your institution whether an invoice correction is also required when changing the participant’s name. If so, please inform us of your request as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have registered and paid the fee, but I cannot attend the course. Nobody can substitute for me. What is the next procedure?<\/i><\/b> When the participant is unable to attend and cannot transfer his\/her place to another person from his\/her institution, then the following refund arrangements apply, as per <\/span>cancellation policy<\/b><\/a> (see below): registrations cancelled more than 60 days before the event are eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fees paid. Registrations cancelled in less than 60 days but more than 30 days before the event are eligible for a 30% refund of the registration fees paid. Registrations cancelled 30 days or later before the event are no longer eligible for a refund.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have not received the link for the participants\u2019 platform. <\/em><\/strong>Most likely, the email sent fell into your spam folder or was blocked by your spam filter. I am a student. Does the course award any ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System)?<\/em><\/strong> Unfortunately, it does not.<\/p>\n

PAYMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be sure of the correct official billing address of your institution\/company. It is also connected with the right VAT number.<\/p>\n

Why do I have to provide the VAT number?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The VAT number is important for the right tax administration on both sides. Providing the VAT number of both institutions is a tax obligation.<\/p>\n

Please wait for a confirmation email with more instructions from our co-organizers<\/span> at Enantis, s.r.o, which will also request your invoicing details. The invoice will be sent to your email address within 10 working days after receiving the billing information.<\/p>\n

What type of payment method should I use?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Card payment<\/i><\/b> is the preferred method of payment for fees. <\/span>It is the fastest way to proceed with payment of the registration fee. We use <\/span>Comgate<\/span><\/i> payment gateway. Registered participants will receive an email with the instructions and individual link for payment, which is generated by payment gateway. Everything is secure<\/span>d<\/span> and safe. The invoice is attached to the email. In the same way, we, as the <\/span>Organizers<\/span>, subsequently send <\/span>a<\/span> confirmation of the payment by email.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In exceptional cases, a <\/span>bank<\/i><\/b> transfer<\/i><\/b> may be accepted if <\/span>card payment<\/span><\/i> is not possible with your institution. For that, contact us at <\/span>LL.academy.general@gmail.com<\/span><\/a> as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important<\/b>: The payment link is valid for<\/span> 7 days.<\/b><\/p>\n

Which payment cards can be used?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We accept: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro. It is not possible to pay by American Express card.<\/p>\n

Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please verify with your Financial department what needs to be stated in the invoice (e.g. project number, department number code etc.). For this information, use the “Notes” section in the registration process.<\/p>\n

Do not hesitate to use the Note section and report anything you consider important for your registration, invoicing or administration. You can also ask a question, which the contact person will then answer and help with its solution.<\/p>\n

Can the invoice be issued to me as a private person (course participant)?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, it is possible. If you plan to ask for reimbursement later on, please check the terms of the subsequent refund in advance with your employer.\u00a0 It is no longer possible to retroactively change the invoice and the customer data on it.<\/p>\n

Can I pay the registration fee in US dollars or any other currency?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

No. The registration fee is calculated in EUR. Unfortunately, it is not possible to convert the fee to another currency.<\/p>\n

REGISTRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

How can I apply for the scholarship?<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0(i) Register first to pre-reserve your seat and add a note that you want to apply for the scholarship. (ii) Send a motivation letter, and your CV to LL.academy.general@gmail.com<\/a>. In the motivation letter, you should describe why you are interested in this course and justify the need for the scholarship. Check the deadline for sending the materials here: https:\/\/loschmidt.chemi.muni.cz\/academy\/#fees<\/p>\n

If the scholarship is not granted, can I attend the course if I pay the registration fee?<\/em> <\/strong>Unfortunately, not. The course is in high demand, and we only saved extra seats for the scholarship awardees.<\/p>\n

I noticed that my registration was wrong, which resulted in not receiving the confirmation email. What should I do?<\/em> <\/strong>Please register again and provide us with the correct email address. Let us know which email address is the correct one.<\/p>\n

I have registered for the course; however, the course is already fully booked. Is there still another possibility to join the course, or do you plan to organize other similar courses?<\/em><\/strong> It is possible that a vacancy opens, and we will let you know. I am an industrial PhD student. Should I register under the university where I am enrolled, or should I list the private enterprise where I am employed? <\/i><\/b>If you are a PhD student and wish to apply for the academic fee, please provide information about the university where you are enrolled. Your name tag will indicate that you are a student and not a company representative. If you prefer to register under a company name, please note that an industrial fee will be charged.<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to attend the course; however, I need to have my institution’s permission, which is a very bureaucratic and long process. What should I do?<\/em><\/strong> Register first and add a note that you may wait for permission from your institution. If you don’t register, it can happen that the course is fully booked as soon as you receive the permission. In case you didn’t receive the permission, you can cancel your registration. Please note, however, that if you already paid the fee and need to cancel, the cancellation policy<\/a> takes precedence (see below).<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to apply for the course as a private individual; however, a VAT number is required during registration. Is it obligatory information?<\/em> <\/strong>No, if you apply and pay for the course as a private individual, you don’t need to provide a VAT number.<\/p>\n

CANCELLATION POLICY<\/b><\/p>\n

If a participant is unable to attend the course for any reason, they may arrange for a substitute to attend in their place (check more details under the FAQ \u201c<\/span>Can my colleague attend it instead?<\/span><\/i>\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

Where the participant is unable to attend, and cannot transfer his\/her place to another person from his\/her institution, then the following refund arrangements apply:<\/span><\/p>\n

Registrations cancelled more than 60 days before the event are eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fees paid.<\/span><\/p>\n

Registrations cancelled in less than 60 days but more than 30 days before the event are eligible for a 30% refund of the registration fees paid.<\/span><\/p>\n

Registrations cancelled 30 days or later before the event are no longer eligible for a refund.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note<\/b>: <\/b>The Organizers reserves the right to modify the event program or venue at any time and for any reason deemed necessary, including but not limited to logistical, safety, or operational concerns. Any such changes will be communicated to registered participants as soon as reasonably practicable.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

If the Organizers cancel the event entirely, all registration fees paid by the participant will be refunded in full. The Organizers shall not be liable for any other costs incurred by the participant, including travel or accommodation expenses.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

ORGANIZATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

I want to attend the online edition of course; however, the timing is not appropriate for me. Are the lectures and tutorials recorded? Can I go through it later? <\/em><\/strong>Yes, you will have full access to the platform, including the recorded videos of lectures and tutorials for ~1 month after the end of the course. In addition, you can download all the written materials and slides for the lectures, and the scientific discussions on Slack will be available to everyone for 90 days.<\/p>\n

How long will the preparatory session take? <\/em><\/strong>This can vary, of course, but we estimate it to take approximately 40-50 minutes.<\/p>\n

I could not attend either preparatory sessions. Are there any notes or recordings available?<\/em><\/strong> The preparatory session is highly recommended to be attended. However, we will make the recording available to those who could not take part. The organizational information will also be available in a written summary on the participants\u2019 <\/span> platform.<\/p>\n

Where can I get my certificate of participation? <\/em><\/strong>After the end of the course, you can find a button on the participant\u2019s platform that says \u201cDownload certificate\u201d. Click on it and you will get your certificate.<\/p>\n

TECHNICAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

What are the software requirements for taking part in the course? <\/em><\/strong>Most of the software taught in our course can run on web servers without the need to install anything. However, some specific software is required for running the course:<\/p>\n

1) Install\/update Zoom, Slack, and 2 web browsers<\/p>\n

2) Make sure that you have a chemical visualization program (PyMOL, Chimera, or similar)<\/p>\n

3) Have a Google account (needed to run colab notebooks for machine-learning sessions)<\/p>\n

Are all the tools that are used during the course fully available and free-to-use after the course? <\/em><\/strong>The web-based tools are available for academic participants for free, also after finishing the course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
