Abstract

This invention provides isolated thermostable peptides and their uses in cell biology research, regenerative medicine and related medical applications or cosmetics, wherein the thermostable peptides have FGF2 activity and at least 85% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO:2 (FGF2wt) or its functional fragment and contain at least one amino acid substituted for R31L. In addition, a culture medium containing the aforementioned FGF2 is disclosed, which is suitable for culturing human pluripotent stem cells involving both human embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells.
