Martin Toul, M.Sc.
Research interestsMartin Toul focuses on the functional and kinetic characterisation of proteins, namely biotechnologically and pharmaceutically attractive enzymes. His primary expertise lies in the detailed transient kinetic analysis of proteins, revealing their molecular mechanism of action, and identification of their main limitations. He uses this knowledge to understand the structure-function relationships of proteins and to engineer them for practical applications rationally. Martin enjoys applying novel state-of-the-art and creative approaches combining chemistry, biophysics, and maths when solving scientific problems and analysing complex kinetic data.
