Tim de Martines
Tim holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Medical Science obtained at Maastricht University and the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, respectively. Although trained as a bench scientist, he was able to pursue his interests in bioinformatics during his master thesis, where he developed a tool to study the tumour microenvironment. He then spent 1.5 years in Germany in molecular biology and biochemistry in pancreatic cancer.
Currently, he is a PhD student in the T-team of Loschmidt Laboratories under supervision of David Bednař. His research focuses on ways to identify promising candidate variants for experimental validation, as well as various molecular dynamics simulation techniques to study the effects of these variants.
