Pavel Earns a Doctoral Degree

Congratulations to Pavel Kohout on successfully defending his PhD thesis, Machine Learning for Computational Protein Design, supervised by Stanislav Mazurenko (pictured with Pavel in the group photo on the left).

Pavel’s research focuses on applying state-of-the-art machine learning methods to protein engineering. During his PhD, he published four articles, completed two research stays, delivered invited talks, participated in workshops, and actively contributed to teaching and mentoring.

At the defense, Pavel clearly presented his work and successfully addressed questions from the reviewers, Prof. Clara Schoeder (Leipzig University, Germany) and Prof. Birte Hoecker (University of Bayreuth, Germany).
