Invited Lecture of Prof. Fraaije

Our guest, Prof. Marco Fraaije from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, presented a lecture as part of the MU Life Sciences Seminar. His talk provided a brief overview of how enzymes rely on cofactors—molecular partners, such as metal ions or organic molecules—to facilitate the diverse chemical reactions essential for life.

In front of a packed auditorium, he presented recent findings on covalent flavin attachment and enriched his lecture with an interactive quiz.

Students also took the opportunity to join a sponsored lunch with the speaker and discuss topics with him.

Thanks to Linda Noskova from the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University for supporting our visitor.
