Exploring Protein Structures at ESRF Synchrotron

Our team members Martin Marek, Martin Sitte, Kaja Sedlackova, and Sasa Kursit recently traveled to the European Synchrotron ESRF in Grenoble, France, for two exciting scientific missions.

On beamline ID29, they focused on preparing and optimizing microcrystals of bioluminescent proteins for serial crystallography experiments. Their second mission took place on beamline ID23, where they collected valuable diffraction data that may help decipher protein structures and provide new insights into bioluminescent systems and Alzheimer’s disease research.

And beyond the lab, they were rewarded with stunning views of Grenoble and the snow-covered Alps.
