Research interests

David Lacko is interested in machine learning applications in protein engineering. More precisely, he works with small datasets for domain-specific predictors and with large language models for immunogenicity prediction. His research focuses on predicting the effects of non-human protein mutations on their immunogenicity and on how to mutate them to inhibit the immune system's response, which is helpful when designing a new generation of drugs. David is also interested in designing new experimental platforms and creating web server-based tools for protein engineering.
